OUR MISSION

To comfort and inspire children while fostering a love of reading, books, and libraries.

BENEFITS

Much has been written about the benefits of reading with children. The list includes: helping the young mind develop, improving vocabulary, helping children learn to read, and deepening the bond between caregiver and child. In my opinion the biggest reason to promote reading is because it opens up a whole new world of information, history, and perspective that children may not get anywhere else. In today’s world of harmful social media, short attention span entertainment, and violent movies and video games, it’s never been more important to give our little people positive alternatives.

CREATE

If you want to create a little library for yourself and your family, we have some ideas for you!

GET INVOLVED

There are many ways to promote reading, books, and libraries for the young people in our lives and in our communities. These ideas include bringing our loved ones to the library and/or creating a little library for them at home, supporting our local Little Free Libraries, and becoming a volunteer reader in your community.

RESOURCES

These are the books that I have in my own personal little library. Each book is special in its own way and I will explain why. Also, I provide book suggestions for specific age ranges and situations.
