The Chicken Who Couldn't
Author and Illustrator: Jan Thomas
Published: 2020
This is another book in Jan Thomas’ Giggle Gang series and I’m a huge fan. Like the other books in the series, this book is funny, the characters are adorable and the illustrations are delightful.
This book is for slightly older kids than some of her others because it takes some deeper thinking to fully appreciate all the humor in the book as well as the more subtle theme. This is a great book to open a conversation about self-talk, and belief in ourselves and our capabilities. Chicken flies just fine until someone tells her that she can’t!
Recommended for ages 4 to 8 years.
