The Little Butterfly That Could
Author and Illustrator: Ross Burach
Published: 2021
This is the second book in Ross Burach’s Butterfly series of books. I’m a huge fan of these books… they are great stories masterfully written, beautifully illustrated, and most importantly, in my opinion, very funny! They are very popular with the kids.
I recommend that you read the books in order if you can because the main character’s personality and life history is built upon with each book in the series. It’s also helpful to read them out loud to yourself a few times before you read them to others. Like all great comedy, timing and delivery are everything!
The Little Butterfly That Could continues the story of the protagonist as he attempts to migrate with the other butterflies. In order to accomplish this task he must develop new strengths of character. In this case, he must overcome fear and self-limiting beliefs. But don’t be misled - this book is not preachy at all. It’s a great story, full of witty dialog and gorgous artwork. A joy to read!
Recommended for ages 5 to 7 years but I think older children will enjoy it as well.
I know I did ;-)
